Welcome to Glenisla Village

A caring community in the heart of Scotland

Glenisla Village will commence construction in the summer of 2018. Over 250 residential units will be completed in a phased development comprising retirement bungalows with care provision options, mainstream housing and dementia care/assisted living units. Each area of the development is designed sensitively to provide security and independence, but with a “community village” feel.

The village will be situated on 140 acres of picturesque land formerly operated as Glenisla Golf Course.   9 award winning golf holes will remain for use by residents, as well as the existing Pitcrocknie Clubhouse Bar & Restaurant which will form a “hub” for the community hosting social events and functions. A number of small business/commercial units will be constructed to the east of the housing development for sale or rent to local businesses.

Glenisla Village will offer a range of housing, food & beverage, care provisions and leisure/golf in a secure environment. The wide-open space of natural beauty comprising wildlife, walking and cycling routes and communal gardens/areas will provide a sense of well-being and health-related benefits to all residents, whether the elderly or young.

The village will be situated within walking distance of the market town of Alyth itself which offers all necessary local amenities/services. Perth and Dundee are within 20 miles from the village with good transportation links.

Designed with you in mind

Residents of Glenisla Village will have unlimited access to a wide range of services ranging from : comprehensive optional “care in the home” packaged up by a Care Provider; walking, cycling and fishing areas on the communal grounds owned;   food & beverage and social events in the Pitcrocknie Clubhouse, and golf on the 9 hole course owned by the development company Glenisla Developments Limited (GDL).  The focus will be on “healthy living and well-being” in a friendly caring community.  A range of house types will be available for a wide mix of residents, all benefiting from the leisure and other services available

Housing

A range of housing types will be available but with 3 main residential markets :

  1. Mainstream housing for families and “down-sizers”/retired
  2. Bungalows with gardens and garages for the elderly with a care need and/or “dementia friendly”  design and
  3. Assisted Living/Dementia Care units in a secure and managed environment.

Bungalows are in high demand particularly by the elderly, so good sized high specification units will be completed at very affordable prices.

Care

One of the main attractions and features of Glenisla Village, unique for a major development in the Perthshire region, or indeed Scotland, is the interaction between housing for the general public and the provision of care to residents in their own homes.

GDL is partnering with a Care Provider, and every resident of the village will be offered care provisions if required, but purely optional. Up to 60 dementia care units will be completed in the North West corner of the development in a secure area, but other residents of the village will be offered care if required, whether limited or more extensive.

Leisure

To complement the Housing and Care needs of residents as appropriate, a range of leisure activities will also be available through the Glenisla Village management team.  GDL owns the 9 hole golf course literally on the door-step of future residents, managed by the adjacent Alyth Golf Club.  Golfers will have a variety of golf courses available in the close vicinity including Glenisla, Alyth Golf Club next door, Strathmore Golf Centre 2 miles away, Blairgowrie courses 5 miles away, and then of course more famous Clubs within easy driving distance including St Andrews, Gleneagles and Carnoustie.

Glenisla Village will offer licensed Food & Beverage at the owned Pitcrocknie Bar/Restaurant.

Communal gardens, walking & cycling areas, fishing and other recreational activities will be made available and introduced as the village becomes occupied.

Location

The village is located in the heart of Scotland, 19 miles North East of Perth, 16 miles North West of Dundee, 5 miles from the popular town of Blairgowrie and adjacent to the market town of Alyth, which has a Pictish history.   Road transportation links to the village are good via a main route A90 leading on to the A94, A926 and the B954.

As a major housing development with a care focus, with leisure/health features, the village will become “destination” for residents, generating its own bespoke market.  Target markets will include Perth and Dundee having combined 200,000 residents within 20 miles of the development. Other nearby towns include Coupar Angus, Kirriemuir, Forfar and Dunkeld.
